Product Description
The Breastflow Starter Set is a great gift for expecting and new moms. The kit includes everything needed to get started: two 5 oz bottles with Stage 1 nipples and bottle covers, two 9 oz bottles with Stage 2 flow nipples and bottle covers, a unique snap-to-bottle container, and bottle brush.Breastflow is the only feeding system that requires both suction and compression, just like breast feeding. The nipple is designed to mimic the breast so baby can latch on and to encourage the same mouth and tongue position as breast feeding. The double nipple system requires both suction and compression, just like breast feeding and baby controls the flow of milk. It's the bottle most like breastfeeding.

Amazon.com Product Reviews
The First Years designed the Breastflow bottles for transitions between bottle feeding and breastfeeding. The outer layer of the "nipple-within-nipple" design compresses and mimics the feel of a breast, while the inner is more firm to acclimate to bottle feeding. The stage one nipples require compression and suction, and the stage two nipples are designed for medium flow. The starter kit comes with two 5 ounce bottles (and two stage one nipples), two 9 ounce bottles (with stage two nipples), four bottle covers that fit the bottom of the bottles, a snap-to container that can hold snacks and formula, and a bottle brush. The First Years Breastflow is a fantastic design for parents introducing the bottle, and for nursing mothers switching to and from bottle and breast. --Scott Teal

WOWEEEEEE! LACTATION CONSULTANT LOVES THIS BOTTLE!
*If it is leaking, make sure you are assembling the nipples according to instructions! IT IS EASY!!*
I am a Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and work extensively with new babies and mommies about breastfeeding issues. Every once in a while a product comes along and I think to myself..'YES! YES! YES! this product is PRO BREASTFEEDING, PRO BABAY, PRO MOMMY, PRO DADDY'.
Well, that is exactaly how I felt when I saw this bottle and was even more excited to see it at work. The nipple within a nipple concept is perfect because it gives the baby something 'firm' to learn with but the outer nipple is soft like mommy's breast.
This bottle delivers expressed breastmilk at a proper rate, requires a proper suck from the baby and also helps a baby to learn a proper latch at the same time. This nipple encourages proper tongue placement and helps the tongue learn to curve around the nipple, pull the nipple to the rear portion of the infant's mouth, while encouraging the tongue down and forward over the gum line. This nipple demands a nice WIDE open mouth, even in small babies and is a great 'transition' tool from bottle to breast or from breast to bottle. All the 'right' muscles are used!
I would recommend this bottle for a baby with latch/suck/swallow issues who is having trouble 'learning' breastfeeding in the first few days and weeks of life. This product in combination with help from an experienced Lactation Consultant, and practice at the breast will ensure a great breastfeeding experience for many who are ready to give up.
I would also recommend this bottle for those having to introduce a bottle for whatever reasons but would like to maintain breastfeeding. I think babies will easily go back and forth with this.
Please, get assistance for your breastfeeding difficulties and use this botlle exactaly as it is recommended.
Thanks FIRST YEARS, you did it again!

I could kiss the person who designed these bottles...
I am personally responsible for keeping Amazon in business, and yet this is my first product review. I am SO IMPRESSED with these bottles that I have to TELL THE WORLD.
My three month old breastfed daughter HATES bottles. She has taken them a few times out of necessity, but it has been a horrible, drawn-out scene that leaves her exhausted, and leaves whatever poor soul had to feed her downright shaken.
I read the other reviews here and have to say that every WONDERFUL thing that everyone else said is COMPLETELY TRUE. It took her about five minutes of exploring, then she latched on just like she does at the breast. Not a drop of milk dribbled into her mouth before she was ready, as happens with the other bottles. She was even able to do her little sucking rituals... (if you know what I mean, then your kid must do them, too). These are FANTASTIC. They have SAVED MY LIFE. Tomorrow I'm going to go get a haircut and the baby's going to stay home with daddy. OH, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
I also found that The First Years has a website about these bottles, where you can watch a video of kids drinking from them. You'll see that they're nothing like a regular bottle. They're much, much BETTER.
Buy them. You won't regret it. Shoot, I'd buy them for you if I had the money.
Perfect for nursing moms and babies.
I have been nursing my little girl for the past three months. I am getting ready to go back to work and was very worried about how she would take to a bottle. Like so many others, my husband and I tried the avent bottles. My daughter was not happy with them. I searched for just the right thing. I came upon this bottle system and decided to go with the positive reviews. I am so glad I did. With the avent bottles, we had to coax and encourage my baby to suck, and would only get her to take about an ounce. The second we tried the breastflow bottle, she began sucking and drinking with no problem. Almost as if she had been drinking from a bottle all along. I highly recommend this bottle to breastfeeding moms and babies.
